Now for filling the litterbox. The litterbox can be filled with a variety of things. You can put newspaper in it. You can put a potty pad in it. You can also use regular litter.

Now for the actual training:

• Put the litter box somewhere and leave it there.


• Put the dog in the litterbox for the first few days and use the same
  phrase each time so that the dog can get used to your litterbox command.


• Praise the dog for using the litter box and give treats. Discipline the dog for not using the litterbox.

Soon your dog will be trained to use the litterbox and you will not have to watch him so closely.
